We will address the following topics
- Importance and instructions regarding Jummah prayers
- Request to the Religious Scholars
- Request to the Government
- How to pray Jumma in such conditions
- Request to the People
- Responsibility to Educate Masses
1. Importance and Instructions regarding Jummah prayers
According to Quran Surah Al-Jumu’ah (Verse 9):
Translation:
“O you who have believed, when [the adhan] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu’ah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew”https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=19&v=KOOYSnTiOiU&feature=emb_logo%20%20%20%20
According to Hadith (Ibn -Majah: 1081)
It was narrated that Jabir bin ‘Abdullah said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) delivered a sermon to us and said
“Know that Allah has enjoined Friday upon you in this place of mine, on this day, in this month, in this year, until the Day of Resurrection. Whoever abandons it, whether during my lifetime or after I am gone, whether he has a just or an unjust ruler, whether he takes it lightly or denies (that it is obligatory), may Allah cause him to lose all sense of tranquility and contentment, and may He not bless him in his affairs. Indeed, his prayer will not be valid, his Zakat will not be valid, his Hajj will not be valid, his fasting will not be valid, and his righteous deeds will not be accepted, until he repents. Whoever repents, Allah will accept his repentance.”
And again in Ibn-Majah: 1125
It was narrated that Abu Ja’d Ad-Damri who was a Companion said that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Whoever abandons Friday (prayer) three times, neglecting it, a seal will be placed over his heart.”
These are clear evidence for the Importance of Al Jummah Prayer.
2. Request to the Religious Scholars:
This request for the Islamic Scholars specially those who comes on different TV Channel’s Program in order to provide solutions. “Ijtihad” is a need of time now. Cooperation and coalition of all religious scholar and come up with solutions is the only way out. Everyone is looking at you for that. How long is this pandemic going to last? Days, Weeks or Months? We have no clue. Also as it is compared with last pandemics in historywhich last for 2 years. Can we lockdown the Masjids for that peroid? Can we start praying only Zuhr at home? We have to find a way aound.
The references regarding allowance of Jammat at Home when it in rain, mud and cold is valid on that day .
Narrated Nafi`:
“Once in a cold night, Ibn `Umar pronounced the Adhan for the prayer at Dajnan (the name of a mountain) and then said, Pray at your homes, and informed us that Allah’s Apostle used to tell the Mu’adh-dhin to pronounce Adhan and say, Pray at your homes at the end of the Adhan on a rainy or a very cold night during the journey.”(Bukhari: 632)
Also about the person having Leprosy the ruling is the same but this is for only one person who can be stopped getting to the masjid due to the illness not everyone. What about the verse of the Holy Quran regarding not leaving Salaah even at the battle ground.
Allah says in Quran (Surah Al-Baqarah: 239)
Translation:
“And if you fear [an enemy, then pray] on foot or riding. But when you are secure, then remember Allah [in prayer], as He has taught you that which you did not [previously] know.”
For that the project AlMasajid.Org provides a platform to all the Masjids to get registered and enables all members of Majids(Maslak wise) to get connected across the Country. the members can send notifications and alerts well in time to all their connected Masjids for any workable plans in shaa Allah.
Also the religious scholars are the most blessed people on the face of the Earth. They should pray for the whole Muslim ummah to help us get through this situation.
3. Request to the Government:
During this outbreak, all Government officials including the Armed forces, Judiciary and Law enforcement agencies, etc are working hard with utmost sincerity to prevent this from the country and its people. They want the country to be more sustainable and progressive.
We just want to draw attention to you people on this verse of Noble Quran.
Allah says in Quran (Surah Muhammad : 7)
Translation:
“O you who have believed, if you support Allah, He will support you and plant firmly your feet”
This verse tells that supporting Allah means supporting Allah’s deen. Allah had sent us and make us Khalifa on this world in order to implement Allah’s Deen on Earth. If the Govt will become Allah’s support then Allah will support them back. What Support do we need more? This is a 100% guarantee and surety that no Super Power can give. We should set our priority in this matter.
Another verse in this regard (Quran 51:56)
Translation: “
And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me”.
We should make policies regarding this as we are making policies for other organizations and departments because this is our real purpose as described in the Quran.
4. How to pray Jumma in such conditions:
a. To pray in mosques in the form of small groups
- Instructions for Masjids:
- As soon as it is time for the Jumma, Prayers should be started together in small groups and continue doing so until all of people standing outside the mosque have done praying
- Maximum 10-20 people should be allowed to come into the mosques depending on the size of the mosque
- The Jumma sermon should be of 2-3 minutes.
- The prayer should not last more than 5 minutes
- All the windows and doors must be kept opened and fans turned on to ensure proper ventilation
- Doors should be opened in such a way that no one has to touch them
- There should be a management committee of the mosque comprising of 2-3 people who would tell the people to wait outside
- Instructions for People:
- Do ablution at home before coming to mosque
- Pray only “Farz namaz” in the masjid and pray rest of the namaz at home
- Masks should be worn
- Everyone should bring their own prayer-rug
- The ones who are feeling sick shouldn’t come to the Mosque
- A queue should be made outside of the Mosque maintaining a distance of at least 3 feet between each other
- Try to not touch the door knobs or any other thing
- After praying, walk at distance and maintain discipline
- After reaching home, repeat ablution again thoroughly
- Along with these precautions, offer duas which are present on the blog
These instructions must be delivered to the people by announcing on the Mosque’s speakers
b. Some of the scholars have permitted to offer Jumma prayers at home
On this condition that as long as we’re dealing with this pandemic this is allowed. The prayers can be offered on the roof or in the courtyard or elsewhere.
- Procedure of Jummah Khutbah at Home:
- At least 3 people can pray together in a congregation among one person who will be the
Imam. - Imam may sit on the chair to give Khutbah of Jummah, any one of the remaining can give full adhan for the prayer.
- Then Imam stands up and starts giving the khutbah.
- The Jummah Khutbah is of two parts.
- In the first part Imam recites Surah Fatiha.
- Then he can sit for a short while then stand up again.
- After that Imam can recite Surah Asr or Surah Kausar or any other short Surah.
- After that the Imam can start the 2 fard rakat of Jummah Prayers Jammat.
This is quite precise guideline to perform Jummah at home In sha Allah
- People should pray together in a large park or on the roads standing at minimum 3 feet distance from each other
- All of the safety precautions instructed for praying in groups, shall be followed
5. Request to people:
People should avoid negative assumptions for the Religious People as well as for the Govt. Official as this is not allowed in our religion
Translation:
“O you who have believed, avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin.”
People should avoid fighting and quarrelling at all costs and help each other in this time of need.
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“The whole of the Muslim is sacred to his fellow Muslim, his blood, his wealth and his honor.” (Ibn – Maja 3933)
Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar: Allah’s Apostle said,
“A Muslim is a brother of another Muslim, so he should not oppress him, nor should he hand him over to an oppressor.” (Sahih Bukhari 2442)
6. Responsibility to Educate Masses:
- If Allah has blessed you with some knowledge and you understood this message, then share this with at least 10 people.
Let us share some of the incidents that happened in the past days.
- A person requested some amount whom we couldn’t even think of, he is doing property business.
- We went to bank and saw a line of laborers sitting idle having no work to do.
- There’s a hospital whose employees haven’t been paid yet due to closure of OPDs.
-
By sharing these events we want to draw attention of all of you towards the gravity of the issue. How many days can we survive like this? Still we are
100% sure on one thing if we will be resolve this issue of “Jummah Prayer” and find a way to estabilished Prayers, Allah Almighty will solve all other rest problems due to it’s blessings In shaa Allah.
