Guide to Fight Coronavirus Outbreak in the Light of Islamic Teachings

On March 11, 2020, the new coronavirus was declared a global emergency by the World Health Organization as the outbreak continues to spread outside China. The first case was reported in the central Chinese city of Wuhan on December 31, 2019, and it has been an uphill battle ever since. Today on March 31, 2020, around 800,000 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in 200 countries. Superpowers of this world are still not able to cope up with this virus. The way this virus is spreading, the fear it inflicted, and the panic it created among the masses is something most of us have not seen in our entire lives. This prevailing situation compelled us to guide the masses, for that this video is created. The contribution of every single person is important to get rid of the Coronavirus pandemic, so it is highly recommended that everyone should watch the complete video.

General Dos and Don’ts During Coronavirus Outbreak

Precautions

General Precautions for Everyone
  • Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands and face with soap and water.
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth until you have recently cleaned your hands.
  • Maintain at least 3 feet distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
  • If you’re looking after a sick person, use surgical masks all the time and make sure that you wash hands after attending the sick person.
Most Vulnerable Group
  • This group comprises of children below 12 years in addition to the people with underlying medical problems. The individuals belonging to this group should follow general precautions in addition to self-isolation.
The Sick Group
  • Follow general precautions.
  • Wear a mask or cover your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing with a tissue or your inner elbow.
  • Use OTCs (over-the-counter medicines) recommended by your healthcare provider to control your symptoms.
The Remaining People
  • Follow general precautions.
  • Use masks when going out in public places. After coming back, immediately wash your hands, face, and feet.
Boost Your Immune System
  • Drink a lot of water.
  • Drink two cups of ginger tea with honey daily.
  • If you’re coughing – Do a saltwater gargle.
  • If you have a fever – Apply a lukewarm compress.
  • If you’re short of breath – Try steam inhalation from boiled water in a pot.
  • If you have chronic conditions, keep symptoms under control.
  • Limit all the immune system killers, especially cigarettes.
  • Get plenty of good quality sleep.

Protect Yourself Against Coronavirus through Islamic Knowledge

To Avoid the Wrath of Allah

  • Recite 100 times in the morning and 100 times in the night.

    سُبْحَانَ اللَّہِ وَبِحَمْدِہِ
    ( مسلم: 2691,2692)

  • Recite as many times as possible any or all of the following.

    لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَ نْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
    (مشکاۃ المصابیح: 2292، حصن المسلم : 124)

    أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّٰہ
    (ریاض الصالحین 1876)

    أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّٰہ َ وَأَ تُوبُ إ ِلَیْہ
    (مسلم:220)

    أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ الْعَظِيمَ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ، وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ
    (مستدرک حاکم : 1884)

For Health and Protection from COVID-19

  • Read and understand the Quran daily – may it be one Ayat only.
    (Surah Al-Muzzammil 20)
  • Offer Tahajud Prayer, Fajar Prayer, and the other four Prayers as well.
  • Remain in Wadoo – keep doing fresh Wadoo as many times as possible.(Sunan Ibn Mājah 277)
  • Make a habit of following Duas
    • To be recited when going outside.

      بِسْمِ اللّٰہِ تَوَکَّلتُ عَلَى اللّٰہِ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللّٰہِ
      (
      سنن أبی داؤد: 5095)

    • To be recited after Fajr and Maghrib.
      • Recite Last 3 Surahs of Quran 3 time each – Surah e Ikhlas, Surah e Falq & Surah e Nas. (Sunan al-Tirmidhi: 3575)
      • Recite 3 times.

        بِسْمِ اللّٰہِ الَّذِیْ لَا یَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِہٖ شَیْءٌ فِی الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِی السَّمَاءِ وَھُوَ السَّمِیْعُ الْعَلِیْمُ
        (
        سنن ترمذی: 3388
        )

      • Recite 3 times.

        أَعُوْذُ بِکَلِمَاتِ اللّٰہِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ
        (صحیح مسلم: 2709، سنن الترمذی: 3605 )

      • Recite 3 times.

        اَللّٰھُمَّ عَافِنِیْ فِیْ بَدَنِیْ اَللّٰھُمَّ عَافِنِیْ فِیْ سَمْعِیْ اَللّٰھُمَّ عَافِنِیْ فِیْ بَصَرِیْ لَا إِلٰہَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، اَللّٰھُمَّ إِنِّیْ أَعُوْذُ بِکَ مِنَ الْکُفْرِ وَالْفَقْرِ،ٍ اَللّٰھُمَّ إِنِّیْ أَعُوْذُ بِکَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ لَا إِلٰہَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
        (سنن أبی داؤد: 5090 )

      • Before going to sleep at night, make sure to recite last 2 Ayats of Surah e Baqrah. (Sahih Al-Bukhari: 5040)
    • Read following dua after every Namaz or at least once in a day.

      اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ البَرَصِ وَالْجُنُونِ وَالْجُذَامِ وَمِنْ سَيِّئِ الْأَسْقَامِ
      (
      سنن ابو
      داؤد:1554
      )

    • Read the following dua when seeing someone who is sick.

      الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰہِ الَّذِیْ عَافَانِیْ مِمَّا ابْتَلاکَ بِہٖ وَفَضَّلَنِیْ عَلٰی کَثِیْرٍ مِّمَّنْ خَلَقَ تَفْضِیْلًا
      (سنن ترمذی: 3431)

    • Recite Surah e Fatiha 3 times for healing yourself or someone else.
      (Sahih Bukhari: 5007)

Get Rid of Fear & Uncertainty

  • Give Sadqa as much as possible daily in the morning and the evening – Keep a Sadqa Box at home.
  • Develop friendship with Allah by reading, understanding, and following the Quran and Sunnah.

This checklist will not only help you protect yourself from this contagious disease but also keep your friends and friendly safe during this ongoing Coronavirus outbreak.
